Character Without Question 2021 recipient

Congratulations to 5th grader Sadie Knips, Character Without Question recipient from Valley Oaks!

Every year, SBISD honors students district-wide who reflect a depth of character and a caring for human beings. Students are selected for demonstrating an enduring commitment to any or all of the following character traits: honesty/integrity, responsibility/dependability, respect, perseverance/effort, courage, caring/kindness, and citizenship/civic virtue.

Sadie’s teacher, Allison Colvard, wrote, “Sadie deserves the Character Without Question Award due to her high levels of kindness, excellent work ethic, and dependability. She always has a kind word or offers to help with others without any motivation other than it is the right thing to do. She goes beyond to be kind and considerate to all classmates, regardless if they are in her immediate friends group.

She is the kind of student who would rather sit and work without complaint through a challenge even in the midst of struggles in order to continue to improve. She never gives less than her best effort on any assignment or class task. Sadie is the student that makes any class or group work great due to her positive attitude, cooperative skills and high levels of responsibility. I am very fortunate to have Said as a role model for good character in class each day.” Sadie was selected for her commitment to responsibility, perseverance, and kindness.
