School Finance Community Meetings - Be an advocate for change.

School Finance in Texas - A funding formula that doesn't add up

Maintaining high-quality schools in Spring Branch is vital to our kids - and community. Unfortunately, the state will take $87 million in taxpayer funding from our district in 2023. The cost is too high for our children. Texas needs to change the funding formula for public education. You can advocate for that change during the upcoming 88th Legislative Session that begins on January 10.

Join us for a night of learning - and action - at SBISD's upcoming School Finance Community Advocacy Meetings. Hear remarks from Jennifer Blaine, Superintendent of Schools, and SBISD Associate Superintendent of Finance Christine Porter on the unsustainable impact the state's funding model is having on our kids, our schools, and the future. Then, learn strategies from SBISD School Finance Advocacy Team (SFAT) leaders to successfully advocate for changing the current funding formula to infuse more money into public education in Texas.

Meetings will be held from 7-8 PM at district high schools on the following dates in the school cafeteria:

The community is encouraged to attend.

The Spring Branch ISD School Finance Advocacy Team (SFAT) is a group of concerned SBISD parents and community members who want full funding for Spring Branch ISD. To learn more about SFAT, click here
